Give Local 757 brings together the Hampton Roads community to raise funds for local nonprofits and to increase awareness for their causes. This year, the Foodbank is hoping to use this fundraising initiative as an opportunity to get a head start on fighting summer hunger.
Pretty soon, school will be letting out for summer vacation and 93,000 children in our service area that are eligible to receive free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch during the school year may need support from the Foodbank for nutritious meals. Help fight summer hunger by supporting us through Give Local 757.
For 24 hours, beginning at midnight on May 14th, donations can be made online at www.givelocal757.org/FoodbankSEVA (minimum of $10.00). The Peninsula Community Foundation will also be awarding over prizes! We are hoping to take home the Coffee Break Prize for the second year, which awards an additional $757 to the organization that receives the most donations between 9 am and 10am on May 14th.
