Yes. Manufacturers, retailers, and growers can donate surplus, safe-to-eat food and essential products through our Retail Rescue program to help reduce food waste and feed local families.

What items can individual donors drop off?

Individuals can donate non-perishable items or purchase nutritious foods specifically for donation. We also ask for culturally appropriate items to meet the needs of our diverse community.

Where can I drop off donations?

Donations can be dropped off at our Norfolk warehouse (800 Tidewater Dr, Norfolk, VA 23504) Monday-Friday 8am-12pm and 1pm-3pm, and at our Eastern Shore branch (24530 Coastal Blvd, Tasley, VA 23441) Monday-Friday 9am-12pm and 1pm-3pm.

Retail Rescue

The Retail Rescue Program is an initiative dedicated to minimizing food waste and combating hunger. Through strategic partnerships with various food retailers, manufacturers, and farmers, the program rescues surplus, safe-to-eat food that would otherwise go to waste and redirects it to the Foodbank and local partner agencies. This innovative approach not only helps provide nutritious meals to individuals in need but also significantly reduces the environmental impact of food waste. By transforming excess food into valuable resources, the Retail Rescue Program embodies an inspiring commitment to building a more sustainable and compassionate food system for all.
