The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore is proud to host the inaugural Hunger Action Summit, made possible by Dollar Tree, bringing together leaders from across our region to explore how cross-sector collaboration can advance practical solutions to food insecurity and strengthen our communities.

The summit convenes professionals from the nonprofit, healthcare, business, education, and government sectors to explore innovative solutions, strengthen partnerships, and discuss the policies and programs shaping the future of hunger relief throughout Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.

Throughout the day, attendees will hear from experts and community leaders during interactive panel discussions focused on:

  • Corporate Leadership in the Fight Against Hunger: Explore how businesses can help strengthen communities through philanthropy, employee engagement, volunteerism, sustainability initiatives, food donations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Food as Medicine: Examine the connection between nutrition and health, including how access to healthy food can improve health outcomes and how healthcare providers are partnering with community organizations to address food insecurity.
  • Legislative and Policy Solutions: Join a bipartisan conversation about how public policy, government investment, and community partnerships can strengthen food security and improve support systems for neighbors experiencing hunger.
